~Artist Comment~

-Oh how I love you Syrena. She's formed a spot in my heart I cannot removed, I seriously love her. Entry for DKD's Halloween Night Show. I thought of something neat to make from her markings and something perfect came to mind. The Great Northern Lights. Sorry for the increadibly long story, I was in a writing happy mood!

~Story~

-Savannah had such a inseperable bond with Syrena, and so did the mare. Another competition arrived in the mailbox for WRC. Emily read it one night, her and Intensity where invited to participate. Emily sighed and tossed the mail aside. Intensity was on break, and so was she. After building the new stable for the special and expensive horses she was wore out. Nathalie was coming soon and Emily wanted everythign to be prepared for her arrival.
Savannah was sitting on the couch watching her mother's past videos of her and Intensity, learning so quickly it was unbelievable. Rose was sitting next to her, her great black head rested on Savannah's lap. She looked up at the mail Emily through aside and jumped down to take it away to tear up. Savannah grabbed it from the German Shepard's mouth and wiped away the slobber left over. Savannah's heart jumped a skip. She had been wanting to compete with Syrena again after competiting her in her first under saddle Dressage test.
"Mom..." she said reading over the letter again. A night dressage event. How sweet! she thought.
Emily sighed. "Syrena?" she said looking at the next new bill from the hay company.
"Yes mom, we are soooo ready please???" she begged.
Emily thought for a moment, "I have no time to take you" she said slowly.
"What about Kaydena!" Savannah blurted out her beautiful red green eyes flashed.
Emily looked to her, Kaydena had helped with the trio in Dressage and Emily trusted her fully, she had known Kaydena since she was little.
Emily looked to Savannah's pleading eyes "pleasseee" she whispered kicking her legs excidingly.
Emily sighed "I suppose" she said and Savannah fell into her moms arms and gave her a hug before running to the phone to call Kaydena.

-Before the Phase-

Savannah sighed as Kaydena fixed her bun. Syrena looked to her and chewed on her bit she was ready.
"Now riding in the dark is a little different than with the light, but since Syrena is a freaking spotlight you wont have trouble with navigating" Kaydena said giving her friend a reasurring smile. Savannah smiled and nodded as Kaydena gave her a lift into the saddle. Syrena snorted and breathed out when their number was called. "Kill em with style" Kaydena said and waved a good bye as they entered in.

-During the Phase-

I breathed out as the arena was dark. Ears pricked I saw the markers where only lit. What was out there in the arena. Taking a few brave steps I felt the familiar dirt underneath my hooves.My markings glowed like a spotlight and I could hear the audience, where ever they where, awe and breath out in spector. I felt braver as Savannah urged me to the center and the music started to play. The soft enchanting music filled me and I felt something different inside. My eyes could sense a whole other level as my bright light grew brighter and brighter, practically filling the arena. Then the canter to the immediate chours and then. Flash. Waves of blue, green, orange and everything thing in my vision floated around me and waved around from my marking. My markings waving up into them and glowed. The arena lit up and filled everyone. Savannah calmed and seemed to rest lightly. I felt something inside me, something within</sup>
